1. CERTIFICATE AND DEGREES:

  • Associate Degree – An Associate Degree in Science in the field as named above. These are typically two-year degrees and require your major studies PLUS general education.
  • Associate Degree for Transfer – The degree to get when you are planning on transferring your Associate Degree to a four-year college. These are aligned with the University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU), so the classes you take must be accepted by those systems. Please see a counselor to plan your specific classes.
  • Certificate of Achievement – Industry-recognized credentials that are career-focused, so they are ideal for many fields, when you know what you want to study but don’t need the general education you get with an Associate Degree.
  • Skills Certificate – Shorter certificates that are targeted to specific achievements to upgrade or advance your existing career. They are under 12 units.

2. SEMESTERS AND UNITS TO COMPLETE = These are the minimum you must complete to get the award:

  • Minimum number of semesters is assuming you are attending full-time. If you attend part-time you will take longer.
  • Minimum number of units is the minimum required.
